A Little Goes A Long Way…

While digging through archive files for the 2022 annual report, we came across a box full of LCCC newsletters. To our delight, we immediately recognized two familiar names – Joan & Larry Sherman. In the specific article, we found the most amazing story, “A Little Goes A Long Way…” featuring Joan and Larry’s simple, but mighty strategy to give back.

Now 15 years later, we spoke to Joan about the article and what connects her to the mission. She explained that she discovered the organization through her Temple’s Women’s Giving Circle. After retiring, she was looking for a fun thing to do and started volunteering weekly. She continued volunteering throughout the pandemic, and she stated, “Volunteering kept me going during that time. It truly is a volunteer job that gives back to all.”
